Grayson Elementary Headphones Requirement |
||
All Grayson Elementary students should provide their own headphones for use on student computers in the classrooms and labs. These headphones should be brought to school in a large plastic Ziplock-type bag with your child's first and last name, and homeroom teacher's name, written on the bag in permanent marker. The headphones will be stored in each child's classroom and take to the labs as needed. Thank you. |

| Mini Fundraisers That Will GREATLY Help Our School | Please Participate When You Grocery Shop! | ||
1. Ingles customers can have a portion of EVERY single purchase donated to Grayson Elementary! Simply visit www.ingles-markets.com and click on "Tools for Schools" at the top of the page. Choose "Grayson Elementary" as the school you want to support, and that's it! This must be done once a year, so if you participated last year, you need to do this AGAIN for this year. Thanks so much!!
2. While you're on the Ingles website, you can also sign up for Bonus Box Tops to be credited to your Ingles card! Click on "Bonus Box Tops" in the middle of the webpage. Thank you!
3. Campbells Labels for Education has some exciting new partners this year, to help us boost our FREE school equipment earnings! In addition to Campbells and Pepperidge Farm products, you can now clip and save the following UPC barcodes: Emerald nut products, Danimals and Dan-o-nino yogurt, Glad food storage, Post cereals, BIC stationary products, Pop Secret popcorn, and MORE. 4. Announcing our Fall 2011 Tyson Project A+ label collection contest! Send in your Tyson Project A+ labels from specially marked packages of Tyson products, and be entered in a random drawing for a $10 Brusters gift card. Please send the labels in a ziptop bag, with student's name, grade, and teacher's name to be entered in the contest. Drawing will be held around 12/16/11, and winner will be announced in January. 6. Our Terracycle recycling program has been very successful. Did you know that last year from Feb-May, we recycled over 5,000 Capri Sun drink pouches? We have quite a large list of items that we can recycle for cash, so please send what you can to earn CASH from your TRASH! For more info, visit www.terracycle.net for a complete list of what to save...
The following can be recycled for CASH:
1. Capri Sun pouches (or ANY drink pouch)
2. ANY chip bag, cookie bag, cracker bag
3. ANY lunch kit (such as Lunchables)
4. Old cell phones
5. Used ink jet cartridges
6. Used Elmers glue sticks or glue bottles (Elmers brand only)
7. Used pens, markers, or mechanical pencils
8. ANY cheese packaging! (tubs or bags of any kind!)
9. ANY personal care health/beauty container!! (shampoo bottles, lotion, hairspray, makeup compacts..if you use it for health/beauty, send it in!)

| Grayson Elementary is in the running for a $25,000 playground makeover! Would you like to help make it happen?? Danimals and Dan-o-nino yogurt have specially marked "Rally for Recess" codes on the packaging. From now until January 2012, please take a minute to enter the code online at www.rallyforrecess.com or you can send the entire yogurt package to your teacher and the PTA will enter the codes for you! Estimated paper saved this week: 4,876 sheets. Total sheets of paper saved since January 2010: 418,874! |
| Switching to recycled paper is definitely a big win for the environment. The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) reports that 40 cases of 30% recycled copy paper (400 reams) will save more than seven trees, 2,100 gallons of water, 1,230 kilowatt-hours of electricity and 18 pounds of air pollution. |
